Transvaal Africa is shaping a cargo village at Harare International Airport, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and boosting African commerce. This initiative aims to strengthen global connections and support local industries.
Transvaal Cargo Village: Pioneering a New Era of Trade and Connectivity
Scheduled to break ground in the first quarter of 2026, the Transvaal Cargo Village will become a cornerstone of global commerce at RGM International Airport. Designated as a Special Economic Zone, this dynamic hub is set to boost Zimbabwe’s trade capabilities and attract worldwide investment with its cutting-edge infrastructure and investor-friendly policies. Covering 528 hectares, it features advanced warehouses, a modern cargo terminal, and a new runway.
Central to the Cargo Village will be its cold chain facilities, designed to support agro processing and logistics in a climate-controlled environment. These specialised units ensure the preservation of perishable goods, enabling local farmers and exporters to bring their high-quality products to markets worldwide, while minimising waste and maximising profitability.

Upon completion, the Cargo Village will host 102 state-of-the-art warehouse facilities, providing scalable storage solutions for all types of goods. Complementing these warehouses will be a wide range of supporting amenities, including a hotel for travelling business professionals, a shopping center, and entertainment facilities, creating a vibrant environment that caters to the needs of both logistics operators and visitors alike.
In addition, critical airport support facilities will be integrated into the development—from a modern fire station to an aviation fuel facility—ensuring seamless operations and adherence to global safety standards. By bringing together world-class infrastructure, unmatched logistical expertise, and an array of business incentives, the Transvaal Cargo Village stands poised to redefine trade and economic growth in Africa.
“Business partnerships create value through shared vision and collaboration.”
