Transvaal Agro is focused on building stronger connections between agricultural production and
sustainable markets.
Working with farmers, Village Business Units, School Business Units and strategic partners, our
approach is centered on production, aggregation, market linkage, value addition and the development of
routes to domestic, regional and international markets.
Our work recognizes that production alone is not enough. Farmers need access to viable markets,
appropriate inputs, knowledge, finance, logistics and commercially sustainable value chains.
Transvaal Agro therefore works with partners across the agricultural ecosystem to develop practical
models that connect production with demand.
BUILDING AGRICULTURAL VALUE CHAINS
Our focus is on developing agricultural value chains in which farmers can produce against identified
market opportunities, aggregate output efficiently and progressively participate in higher-value
markets.
Current work includes engagement with Village and School Business Units and the development of
partnerships around production, financing, off-take, aggregation and market access.
AGRICULTURE AND THE CARGO VILLAGE
The planned RGMI Airport Cargo Village provides a longer-term infrastructure platform through
which agricultural production can connect with aggregation, cold-chain, value addition, logistics and
export markets.
This creates a pathway linking production in farming communities with the infrastructure and markets
required to grow agricultural trade.
